The Basics

“How can I be truly happy in this life and know I will have a far better one when I die?” That’s what two learned men asked long ago. We believe their answer is still true, “That I belong – body and soul, in life and in death – to Jesus.”

But, you ask, how can I belong to Him? Here’s the heart of it. The Bible tells us we must believe there is a God and also have a yearning to truly know Him. In this quest, we learn that our relationship with God is broken because we, along with all humanity, act in ways that displease Him. Since God is holy and perfect, He cannot tolerate our disobedience and indifference toward Him. Because He’s also just, the consequence is – a death separation from Him.

But here’s the good part. God’s love overcomes all. He sent His son, Jesus, to die on the cross to pay for our wrongdoings. If we believe Jesus did this for us, ask Him into our life, and do our best to follow Him – then we’re saved. This means we now belong to Him and we’re guaranteed a place in the presence of God – now and forever.
