This Sunday

We're in the season of Lent.  Lent is a time when we are reminded of our distance from God and the wrong thoughts, words  and actions that pepper our daily lives.  It's a season to be honest to God about ourselves.  This distance and these bahaviors are the reason Jesus needed to die for us.

In John 12 Mary pours expensive oil on Jesus' feet to annoint Him.  She doesn't say a word.  Others chatter about how the oil could have been put to better use.  But she, Jesus said, was preparing him for His burial.

The first step in getting closer to God is realizing how far we are from Him.  We'll explore this in the message on March 14.
